Quick and foreign meals

If you want to have a quick meal you can go to the frietkotten, but there are also plenty of foreigners with plates who are cheap and most often it won’t take much time. There are Greek, Turkish, and Israeli places, where you can buy moussaka, kabobs, or falafel for a cheap price. Some fine examples are at rue du Marché-aux-Fromages. Just take the metro to Gare Centrale. If you want a fast-food outlet don’t go to Mc Donalds, Belgium has it’s own fast-food speciality called Quick. The Belgian hamburger chain is the place to be in fast-food world in Brussels. Two central locations are rue du Marché-aux-Herbes at metro Gare Centrale and rue du Fossé-aux-Loups at metro De Brouckère.Ixelles is a quarter of Brussels where you can find foreign cuisines specialised in African, Thai and Italian food. This section is located around St-Boniface church

Another seductive invitation is the aroma of fresh waffles, sold from street stands all around the city. Generally thicker than American waffles, they cost about 2€ ($2.50) and are smothered in sugar icing.
